October 2009
Fishing was a bit up and down this month with the warmer spells bringing a notable increase in carp activity and fish still getting caught off the top. Ian on peg 10 had a lovely 19lb 8oz ghostie .Richard on Peg 19 had a 21lb Common .Then the last week produced three cracking 20s.Paul on peg 34 had a 21lb common .Then two days later on the same peg Jack caught a 26lb 7oz Ghostie .Then on Peg 7 James caught a 27lb 8oz Ghostie. Fishey or spicey baits seem too be doing the best at the moment.
September 2009
September was a steady rather than spectacular month the notable fish being Mazza out again at 33lb 6oz caught off the top by Lee on peg 16 he also had a 27lb 3oz ghostie off the same peg the week before. Gary had a 19lb 9oz common off peg 27 .Aidan on peg 7 had a 19lb 4oz mirror. Richard on peg 4 a 20lb 2oz ghostie and josh on peg 18/19 a 20lb Ghostie caught with fusion boillies .
August 2009
Despite the awful weather the fishing has remained reasonable Barry fishing off peg 36 caught Mazza at 33lb using fake sweet corn. Stephen on peg 4 caught a 21lb Mirror . Anne and her partner finished off a good weeks fishing with a 21lb Common off peg 18/19 and plenty of carp off still getting caught off the top ( 20 this weekend ). the last two weeks of August produced some cracking fish.Joe on peg 34 with a 29lb 8oz Ghostie. Chris caught a 28lb 3oz ghostie and Paul an 18lb 7oz Common on Peg 22. John on Peg 4 caught a 20lb 2oz Mirror and a 20lb 8oz common.
July 2009
1st of July and another 30. Mathew caught Bruiser off peg 6 weighing in at 32lb .Danny on peg 30 had 9 carp including two at 18lb+ and one at 19lb 8oz .John on Peg 27 caught a 21lb 7oz mirror.Peg 2 produced another 20lb+ Ghostie .caught by a Mr Gocott .The lake is still producing a lot of fish off the top the splash of the dog biscuits bringing them in to munch quickly. Lee fishing off the top on peg 16 caught a 20lb ghostie .Harriff and Skeckling have still both been producing some good fishing.
June 2009
June started off slowly the carp more thinking about spawning than feeding .However in the last week things have picked up nicely with a 20lb 12oz ghostie off peg 27 and a 20lb Mirror off peg 2 caught by Alan and plenty of action around the lake off the top and bottom Both the small ponds are still fishing well with some good mixed bags getting caught. The last week in June produced Mazza at 33lb caught by Gareth off peg 7 on halibut pellet beating his pb by 19lb
May 2009
May has brought Bruiser out again he has regained his title as our biggest ghostie coming out off Peg 7 at 31lb caught on maggot bySteve.Shane has broken his personnel best twice firstly with a 23lb Mirror and a 19lb8oz mirror off Peg 1 then two days later with a 25lb Ghostie off peg 7.Just out off peg 22 a 22lb Common caught by Steve on tiger nut .Harriff and Sceckling are fishing well at the moment with good mixed bags from both and some good sized carp out of Sceckling.The last match on Harriff was won with 77lb. Colin had 11 carp up to 19lb on peg 18-19 and James had 12 carp up to 18lb between 19th and the 22nd. Wayne on peg 36 had out 13 carp out up to 19lb although he had to work hard for them. Peg 27 produced a 23lb ghostie for Anthony .Both the little ponds fished well to the end of the month with some nice carp up to 18lb coming out of Skeckling
April 2009
April has started off really well with the bigger fish starting to show. A new lake record Ghostie of 30lb along with a 19 lb 8oz carp off peg 7 was caught by Aaron .A 19lb 8oz ghostie off peg 18/19. A 22lb Common on paste from peg 30. A 22lb 7oz Mirror from peg 25 off the top and Phil on peg 34 had 9 carp including a 21lb Mirror and a 20lb 3oz ghostie .Nick and Barry had 12 carp off the top on peg 14 including a 20lb Common. Peg 14 also produced a 20lb Ghostie for Danny. On peg 2 Alan had a 22lb 6oz Common. While this has been a mixed month for the catches there have been some cracking fish out
February/March 2009
The first two weeks of February we where completely frozen .Things warmed up a little for the last two weeks with a few carp even getting caught off the top .The biggest carp out this month was a 23lb 4oz Ghostie caught off peg 1 on raja spice .Things warmed up a little in March with more carp coming out not many of the big ones came out with the majority being between 12lb and 19lb.The best of the month was a 22lb Common carp caught off peg 7.Both Skeckling and Harriff have been fishing well both producing good bags of fish.The bigger carp in Sceckling have been showing well with plenty of carp caught in the high teens.January 2009
Happy New Year to you all .This winter has been one of the coldest in years as a result it has been fairly slow in regards to carp out on the bank. Peg 7 produced a 18lb 4oz Mirror and peg 30 two carp last week during the day a 10lb Ghostie and a 15lb 4oz Common .There have been a fair few runs but only a few resulting in fish caught .A lot of the carp are in mid water so maybe zig rigs are the thing to try.Ha riff and Skeckling have been fishing well despite the cold weather.With good mixed bags of fish from both and some nice carp out of Sceckling .
