July / August 2008

I would like to appologise for the lack of updates lately I just seem to have been that busy .July was like the rest of the year erratic, with plenty of carp being caught at times and very few at others.Simon had mazza out on peg 7 at 32lb 8oz . Paul on peg 22 had a 21lb 3oz mirror .Jordan had a 20lb 8oz Common off peg 29. Gordon on peg 7 had a 20lb 1oz Mirror.Over the last week or two the average size of the carp being caught seem to have risen with many more out around the upper teens hopefully this means the bigger fish will at last start getting caught more regularly. Mazza has just been caught again this time off peg 4 by another Simon at 32lb 8oz .Skeckling and Hariff Ponds are both fishing well with some realy nice carp coming from Skeckling .Carol has had a 22lb 8oz common off peg 27 this Sunday (10th Aug).A 22lb 7oz Ghostie has just been caught off peg 18/19 (Tues 12th) The last couple of weeks of August where a bit eratic with some good and some lean spells. However the larger fish are starting to show with a 20 lb 2oz Mirror of peg 29,a 19lb ghostie caught by Gary stalking on peg 39. and a 20lb 4oz Ghostie caught on peg 18/19 by dave.Close in stalking with worm has proved productive ,with Chris having three Carp upto 18lb 8oz in just a couple of hours.

June 2008

The first few days of June started slowly but have picked Martin on Peg 27 had a 20lb 8oz Ghostie with other pegs also producing a good few fish 14lb to 19lb .

NEW LAKE RECORD Mazza has just been caught off the top on Pukka fish floaters by Charlie on peg 27 at 34lb 8oz .Just before that he had already caught a 20lb 4oz common off the top

May 2008

In the first week of May there have been 115 carp up to 24lb 6oz caught. Probably 65% of these have been caught off the top or on zig rigs.Ian on peg 18/19 had 24 carp the best three being 20lb 14oz ,19lb 12oz and 18lb 6oz .Tom on peg 30 had 2 carp a 19lb 14oz ghostie and a 15lb 6oz Mirror .Bryce and on pegs 27 and 29 have had 8 carp between them so far up to 17lb Gary had an 18lb 4oz ghostie on peg 10 and a 19lb 8oz on peg 7 and today 8th May a 24lb 6oz carp was caught off the top on dog biscuits. Both the small ponds are doing well with plenty of tench showing in Skeckling. Things have slowed down a little in the last fortnight With the carp spawning just over a week ago and some cold north easterly winds however there have still been a good few carp out .A 21lb mirror off peg 22 and a 20lb+ mirror caught off peg 30 by Tom are probably the best two .There have been quite a few fish over 15lb. Top pegs at the moment are 34,18/19,30 and 22.with scopex, source, tiger nut and halibut boillies doing well .Plenty of fish are being caught in both Hariff and Skeckling with Skeckling producing some excellent double figure carp .A bit of a mixed week for this the last week in May a couple of nice 20's. Andy on peg 34 caught a 23lb 2oz common on aniseed boillies and Jim caught a 20lb 8oz ghostie off the top on peg 16 along with 5 other double figure carp. There have been a fair few carp 16lb to 19lb out this week from around the margins and the carp are still taking dog biscuits off the top. The two small ponds have been in the main been fishing well .On Friday night Peter and friend fishing Skeckling pulled their rods in at 2am to get some sleep after catching so many double figure carp they lost count

April 2008

The often cold weather has meant April has been an erratic month as far as the carp fishing is concerned .However there have been some good catches during this month .Stuart on peg 34 caught 6 carp up to 18lb Ian on peg 25 caught 2 up to 19lb. Dave on peg 7 caught 3 carp to 18lb 6oz. Mike stalking around the lake one warm morning caught 4 carp up to 17lb 6oz. Just last week Mr Simpson caught 10 carp over 2 nights on peg 27 the smallest was 12lb, biggest 18lb The bream have started to show more in the last few days and this usually means the carp are not far behind..

Both the two small ponds have been fishing well except on the really cold days.We have recently introduced some carp and tench and ide up to 4lb in these ponds they should provide some good sport.

March 2008

March has got off to a good start with the new peg 30 producing 4 carp up to 14lb 8oz caught by Terry with other small doubles coming out around.Tim had a bit of bad luck losing two good sized fish at the net on peg 7. On the warmer days you can now see the carp grubbing around the margins .A sign things are picking up

As part of constant effort to bring you quality fish to fish for, we have taken delivery of 40 highly scaled mirror carp to go with another 65 fast growing carp which over the next couple of years we will introduce to the lake as specimen size fish including five 30lb + Carp.

Carp have been caught in increasing numbers over the last fortnight. Peg 22 with Steve catching 3 carp up to 17lb 4oz on crab and crawfish boillies.Andy on Peg 34 caught 4 carp including a 19lb 15oz Mirror.Danny caught 3 more up to 14lb on the same peg and this weekend Gary caught 3 carp up to a 17lb 8oz Mirror .Charlie on Peg 18/19 caught a 20lb 4oz Common. Pegs 2, 7and 27 also produced carp this weekend . Pegs 7 to 14 have been producing good quality roach up to 2lb

Skeckling and Hariff ponds have been fishing well producing good bags of fish with perch up to 3lb 8oz ,ide up to3lb 4oz carp up to 13lb 11oz being caught . Easter brought terrible weather this year with strong winds ice and snow and this did knock back the fishing with only 5 carp being caught from around the lake the biggest being a 20lb 1oz common caught by Paul on peg 34 on lob worm

February 2008

Feb a fairly quiet month about a dozen fish hitting the bank the biggest being a 19lb 8oz Mirror caught of peg 27 when half the lake was frozen .looking at the fish finders the fish were often to be seen mid water during this month .Coarse fish wise pegs 9 to 14 have been fishing really well with some quality roach and perch being caught .The two small ponds have also been fishing well this month .

January 2008
